Our GlowTox event is on Saturday, June 3rd. We will be offering exclusive pricing on our ToxBooster treatments for those that come to the event. Read more below about VI Peels!
What is a VI Peel?
VI Peels are a type of chemical peel that is used to further improve the skin’s texture, tone, and overall appearance. This treatment is a medium-depth peel that targets and exfoliates the top layer of skin. VI Peels also stimulate the deeper layers of skin and help promote collagen growth and elastin production which creates anti-aging effects. This treatment is particularly popular as VI Peels have many of the same benefits as deep chemical peels. However, these peels create less discomfort, pain, and swelling after treatment since they only penetrate certain layers of the skin.
Why combine a VI Peel and Neurotoxin?
The purpose of the ToxBooster package is to help further refine skin texture, reduce wrinkles and fine lines, improve skin tone, and reduce hyperpigmentation. This is a great combination treatment that targets ALL signs of aging from sun damage to uneven textured skin.
What to Expect During your Treatment?
During your treatment, the provider will cleanse your face and then apply 3-5 layers of the VI peel solution on your face (and neck if wanted!). You might experience mild tingling, coolness, or a “pins and needle” sensation. The VI Peel is one of the most tolerated applications compared to other types of chemical peels. After the application of the peel, your provider will then inject the neurotoxin. The neurotoxin will be injected in the areas you are wanting improvement in fine lines and wrinkles (between the eyes, forehead, around eyes, around mouth, and chin). This only takes a few minutes depending on what areas you elect to be done. Your practitioner will most likely want pictures prior to injecting to evaluate the results of the peel and neurotoxin.
What to Expect after your Treatment?
The VI Peel needs to sit on your face for 6 hours. Once those 6 hours are up, gently cleanse the skin and pat it dry. You can also apply some moisturizer or SPF to bring down any swelling and protect your skin from light. Normally the area treated by the peel will look a little darker or appear red and swollen for the next 24 to 48 hours. The peeling will then begin 2-3 days after the application. The peeling can take anywhere from 3 to 7 full days for the top layer of skin to peel off. During this time, your skin might feel dry or tight. Peeling may look like light flaking, sheet peeling, or may be barely visible to the naked eye. The amount of visible peeling you will experience varies greatly. You will peel as much as your skin needs to peel. It is important to not pick, pull, or roll the skin as this could lead to significant irritation and possible hyperpigmentation and scarring.
What are the Restrictions during the VI Peel?
No shaving, waxing, exfoliating, swimming, or hot tubs during the peeling process. Shaving and Exfoliating can be resumed after the peeling process is complete. Waxing can be resumed 2 weeks after peeling process is complete.
How often can I get a VI Peel?
VI Peel treatments can be scheduled every 4-6 weeks for best results. It is recommended to combine this treatment with neurotoxin, IPL, and Morpheus8. Combining the VI Peel with other treatments is important for full face rejuvenation to address all your skin concerns.
